First published in serial form from 1860-61, Great Expectations is one of Dickens' best loved works, recounting the life of the orphan Pip as he attempts to become a gentleman. Some of Dickens' most memorable characters feature, including Miss Havisham and Estella, and Magwitch the convict. A perfect book to adopt for Dickens fans.

I use the British Library often for research, but I LOVE adopting books as gifts for people. My most recent adoption was in honor of my English professor in college. I am not just a literary scholar because of her influence--I am also a better human being.
