Leo Tolstoy’s sprawling novel tells of Anna Karenina’s tragic love affair with Count Vronsky and the pressures she faces from society in her fight to follow her heart. This edition in English was translated by Nathan Haskell Dole.

I use the British Library often for research, but I LOVE adopting books as gifts for people. My most recent adoption was in honor of my English professor in college. I am not just a literary scholar because of her influence--I am also a better human being.
