English writer Mary Louisa Molesworth wrote children's books under the name Mrs Molesworth. This tale tells the delicate life story of a boy delivered to a house by the sea the day after Christmas. A charming example of late Victorian writing, this book makes a great Christmas adoption.

I use the British Library often for research, but I LOVE adopting books as gifts for people. My most recent adoption was in honor of my English professor in college. I am not just a literary scholar because of her influence--I am also a better human being.
