Thomas Gray's masterpiece 'Elegy Written in a Country Churchyard' is one of the six poems in this book. Its themes of death and afterlife are said to foreshadow the Gothic movement. Each poem is accompanied by beautiful engravings of Richard Bentley's drawings.

I use the British Library often for research, but I LOVE adopting books as gifts for people. My most recent adoption was in honor of my English professor in college. I am not just a literary scholar because of her influence--I am also a better human being.
