This story of a couple who try their best to give each other thoughtful Christmas gifts is one that has been retold countless times but never fails to touch the reader's heart with its enduring tale of unselfish love.

I use the British Library often for research, but I LOVE adopting books as gifts for people. My most recent adoption was in honor of my English professor in college. I am not just a literary scholar because of her influence--I am also a better human being.
