A gripping love story set in 19th century Japan, Madam Butterfly is one of the most-performed operas in the world. A perfect adoption for opera fans and a lovely gift for Valentine's Day. This large volume also includes other pieces by Puccini and his contemporaries including Sir William Sterndale Bennett.

I use the British Library often for research, but I LOVE adopting books as gifts for people. My most recent adoption was in honor of my English professor in college. I am not just a literary scholar because of her influence--I am also a better human being.

My daughter and I both love the ambiance of the British Library and feel proud to be Readers. Supporting the Adopt a Book scheme is the least I can do.
