John Abraham Fisher's incidental music to the Epithalamium in Act 2 of Joseph Cradock's play 'Zobeide' (based on Voltaire's 'Les Scythes') was first performed at the Theatre Royal, Covent Garden, on 11 December 1771. An Epithalamium is a form of poem intended to accompany a bride on the way to her wedding: in this case, the character of Zobeide. This edition is arranged for harpsichord, voice, violin and German flute, making it accessible to amateur musicians for performance at home. This is one of only four copies of the edition known to survive. A special gift for a music lover.

I use the British Library often for research, but I LOVE adopting books as gifts for people. My most recent adoption was in honor of my English professor in college. I am not just a literary scholar because of her influence--I am also a better human being.
