Trusts
A great number of charitable trusts and foundations, both in the UK and internationally, offer support to the British Library. These vital contributions make it possible for us to build and conserve the Library’s collections, extend access to learning and innovate in the field of research.
If there are ways your organisation could support this mission, our Trusts and Foundations team would be very happy to discuss how you can help, so please contact us today.
How have trusts and foundations helped?
Thanks to the ongoing generous support of charitable trusts and foundations, the British Library has recently succeeded in:
- Key acquisition campaigns for heritage collection items such as the Sherbourne Missal, My Ladye Nevell’s Book and the Macclesfield Alphabet Book.
- Major development projects such as the Centre for Conservation and the Harry M Weinrebe Learning Centre.
- The continued digitisation of the Library’s rare items, for example the project to make our collection of Greek Manuscripts available online.
New acquisitions campaigns and further development projects rely on the involvement of trusts and foundations, so the Library invites others to support us to make this possible.
