John Keats is one of the most admired of the Romantic poets. This edition of his poetry was part of a ""Vest-Pocket Series"" and includes The Eve of St. Agnes, which consists of 42 stanzas and is widely considered to be one of his best works. The six illustrated etchings were drawn by an unnamed artist. Keats took the title of his poem from the Eve of St Agnes's feast day (20 January) when virgins used divinations to 'discover' their future husbands and tells the story of Madeline and her lover Porphyro. The edition also contains some of his famous Odes and is the perfect book to adopt for lovers of poetry and English literature.

I use the British Library often for research, but I LOVE adopting books as gifts for people. My most recent adoption was in honor of my English professor in college. I am not just a literary scholar because of her influence--I am also a better human being.

My daughter and I both love the ambiance of the British Library and feel proud to be Readers. Supporting the Adopt a Book scheme is the least I can do.
