Out Of This World
Science Fiction is back! Our current exhibition Out of This World which is open until September 25 aims to challenge visitors' perceptions of the genre and explore its relationship with science. Books on show at the exhibition, include a first edition of Thomas More's Utopia and rare copies of the Bronte’s manuscripts.
Sci-fi author China Mieville took BBC News on a tour of the exhibition to explain the genre's importance and lasting appeal.
The British Library is one of the most beautiful and inspiring places in England. Sadly, I'm leaving the UK to return home to Australia and wanted to make a contribution that would ensure others can feel inspired to open the pages of a book and enter a new world of knowledge.
