I have always loved books. As a child my nose was often in a book, sometimes when I should have been doing something else.
St Cuthbert, and Durham Cathedral, are quite special for me for many and varied reasons. To be able to see St Cuthbert's Gospel will be really really special. Works such as this must be preserved in this country for future generations.
The British Library presents its treasures so well both in exhibitions on site and through its digitising projects. Long may this continue.

I have just completed an Oxford DPhil in medieval history, so I regard all manuscripts of this age as special. However, this one is very special because I grew up in Northumberland and knew stories of St Cuthbert from childhood. This book is an important part of our cultural heritage and must stay in the BL.

I have a special relationship with the British Library because I am a bibliophile scholar who has studied English literature and who has lived in Wales for eleven years. London is one of my favourite cities in the world and the British Library one of my favourite places. Adopting a book is a great idea, and I will do that. I learnt Middle English so I am very interested in the manuscripts. Again: super usable website, fantastisch.
